Gold Outlook: A Bearish Trend Continues
The gold market is currently experiencing a bearish trend, with the daily chart indicating a 4-month bear trend. However, a significant development occurred yesterday with a weaker-than-expected CPI release, causing gold to rise. Despite this, the price has since dropped over $70, reversing to 4070/4065 and retesting the low at 4025/4020.
In my opinion, this retest is not a support level, and a break below 4025/4020 is a possibility, targeting 4005/4000. While 4000 is a psychological round number, it is unlikely to provide support. If the trend continues lower, the next levels to watch are 3988/84 and 3976/72.
A sell opportunity arises at 4075/4085, with shorts needing stops above 4095. However, a break higher at 4095 could signal a buy, targeting 4100, 4120, and even 4135.
Silver Market: Bearish Reversal
Silver has also experienced a bearish reversal, with shorts working perfectly as the price reversed from 5965 to minor support at 5880/50. Holding below 5880/50 today can target 5760/5730 and even 5660/40, with a retest of the June low at 5590/5560 as a possibility.
A break below 5590/5560 is expected in the bear trend, with the next target at 5470/5430 for profit-taking on shorts. Gains are likely to be limited with first resistance at 5970/6010, and shorts need stops above 6080.
A break higher at 6080 could signal a buy, targeting 6170/80 and 6220/30, perhaps even reaching 6290.
In summary, both gold and silver markets are showing bearish trends, with potential opportunities for shorts in gold and a reversal in silver. However, the market dynamics are complex, and traders should carefully consider their positions and risk management strategies.
